The Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Society charity is a Christian voluntary organization, working with poor and disadvantaged people. Inspired by our principal founder, Frederic Ozanam, and our patron, St. Vincent de Paul, we seek to respond to the call every Christian receives to bring the love of Christ to those in need: "I was hungry and you gave me food" (Matthew 25). Volunteers assist by meeting with those requesting financial assistance to evaluate available. Others assist in the SJN Food Bank, coordinated by the SVdP Society, or in the second-hand store.
Membership meetings are held at 9:30 am on the first Sunday in Classroom 6 (lower level of the church).
*If you require the financial assistance of SVdP, please call the helpline and leave a message: 678-892-6814. Your call will be returned as soon as possible by one of our volunteers.
Fall is coming to the SJN/St. Vincent de Paul Pantry Gardens!
Sure it may seem far off, but…
We like to get a head start! Please join us for the annual SVdP Food Pantry garden clean up and planting on Saturday, September 20 9:30am - noon (rain date: September 27) we start behind the Feaster Center. This is a “one and done” opportunity - great for those needing service hours. Please wear a hat and bring gloves, shovels, weed pullers, clippers, loppers, hand tools, a saw or small chainsaw. Fun hands-on activities include: weed pulling, mulch spreading, invasive plant removal, vegetable and flower bed clean up and more! Light refreshments provided.
Consider donating your own surplus produce to the food pantry on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings.
We also continue to need gardeners to grow this important ministry; experience is not necessary! We generally work in the gardens Tuesday evenings around 5:30 and Saturday mornings around 10, because these times coincide with the food pantry hours. ¡El otoño viene a SJN/ Jardines del Dispense de San Vincente de Paul (SVDP) !
Claro que está en el futuro, pero...
¡Queremos empezar adelantados!
