Sharing with Others
17th Sunday In Ordinary Time
In today’s Gospel, we hear about the multiplication of the loaves and fish. The boy’s willingness to share his bread and fish led to Jesus’ miracle of feeding more than five thousand people.
It does not matter to God the quantity of what we can share, but the willingness to share from what we have can result in miracles. Just as Jesus was concerned for the poor and the hungry, so should we. We do not have to look far to discover them, they are right in our neighborhood. “I was hungry and you gave me food.” (Mt 25:35)
No matter how poor we may be, like the boy in the Gospel, we also have our “five loaves and two fish.” We too can help others in need with the little we have. Our great parish offers various opportunities to reach out to the poor and the needy. Have you been thinking of sharing your time, talents and treasure lately? You are in right place with
St. John Neumann community!
