Protecting All of God’s Creation
27th Sunday In Ordinary Time
The Catholic Church teaches that the Sacrament of Marriage is a permanent union between one man and one woman with the purpose of being open to new life. This teaching is based on the Word of God found in today’s 1st reading and the Gospel. Married spouses are called to participate in the creative activity of God through procreation of children. St. John Paul II said, “The future of humanity passes by way of the family.”
The secular society today promotes views on marriage that are completely contrary to the teaching of the Church. It requires great courage from the members of the Church to stand up and defend the values of the institution of Marriage and family.
The month of October is being observed as Respect Life month. Pope Francis has reiterated in his Encyclical “Laudato Si” about the importance of protecting all of God’s creation. Let us pray for an end to abortion and culture of death. Let us do our part to protect our environment which is our earthly home and the future of humanity.
