Our Amazing SJN Parish!

Pentecost Sunday

From March 13th to 15th this year, four of our parish representatives and myself attended the “Amazing parish” International Conference in Atlanta. This Conference gave us the opportunity to recognize how amazing our SJN Parish Community really is! It is so evident from what we do as a community that we are on our Mission to fulfill the mandate given to us by the Lord. This Conference offered us so many tips and tools to work on. I am very pleased to announce to you that we have put together an “Amazing Parish Team” to work on making our SJN Parish more amazing!

This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the founding of our Parish and today marks the official Birthday of our Church. This is a great occasion for us to renew our Christian Faith. On the day of Pentecost, the Apostles’ fear gave way to courage. Filled with the Spirit, they proclaimed the Risen Lord, even if that meant undergoing persecution and death. In the Gospel Jesus addresses us today, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” (Jn. 20:21) Every Sunday Worship is also a sending forth with a mandate. From the Holy Eucharist, we derive strength and courage to live and share our Faith by public witnessing.

It takes a collective effort from all of us to make our Sunday Worship more enriching and amazing. Following the recommendation of our Amazing Parish Team, beginning this Sunday, let us observe a short period of silence in the Sanctuary and pray together the Parish Prayer before the Holy Mass and the “St. Michael the Archangel” prayer at the end the Mass. This is one simple step in making our Sunday Worship more enriching. May this experience create in us the desire to come back every Sunday for more Divine Graces!

Happy Feast of Pentecost!
